Stable internet on nintendo switch. I ran over 100 tests wlon wireless, 5g wireless and this wired connection on nintendo switch. My baseline connection on wired pc and phone on 5g was regular 60-65mbps down and 6mbps up. Wireless was between 8 and 11mbps down and 3 up. 5g was 28 to 42mbps dowb and 4. Wired with this unit was 37 to 40 down and 5. Bottom line it made the connection more consistent and faster up than 5g. My wireless router is about 5feet from the switch with direct line of sight.

The nintendo switch’s internal wifi adapter is notoriously weak. Other wireless devices in my man cave have no problem achieving acceptable download / upload speeds, despite the router being on the complete opposite side of the house, through several walls. On wifi, my docked switch struggled to maintain 1-2 mbps down, and would often be rated as kbps (less than 1 mbps). If i un-dock my switch and stand directly next to the router it would only manage around 5-10 mbps on wifi – so clearly distance is a factor – but i also don’t want to stand in the master closet, where our router is mounted, and play my switch in handheld mode. With this adapter it did 40 mbps down and 6 up. Good enough for me, and a great upgrade for 15 bucks. Overall i’ve never been a fan of wifi, unless we’re talking about portable devices and smartphones, so all my devices (pc, gaming consoles) are all wired. Get yourself a good ethernet hub so you can split your connection to all your devices and never worry about signal strength and interference again. Give me cables or give me nothing.

Fortunately i bought 2 of these adapters. The first one i used worked and is still working. When i went to use the 2nd adapter it is broke and not working. Its past the return period and really needs to be replaced for being defective. Hit and miss on the items for me; 50/50. Gave 2 stars due to 1 worked, arrived on time, but no more stars than that because the other adapter is a nice paper weight now. Update: the company reached out to me and offered tech support. We went through a few troubleshooting steps for the adapter to double check. It was still unresponsive and not working.

I use this with my nintendo switch. My switch sometimes struggles with my house wifi and this adapter worked perfectly to give it a lan connections.

Plugged it in and it’s been working perfectly for a couple of weeks now. Super stoked i get to play smash with a reliable connection while i’m upstairs. The one problem i even kind of have with this product is that the cord to the usb seems kind of weak, but it has not broken on me, so i can’t really say how durable it is. Build quality of the box is nice, though. Also, i thought this adapter might fit inside of the dock, but it does not. I would say as long as young children aren’t around to break the adapter somehow, or twist it’s cord, it should have a relatively long lifetime.
