When siting back on the couch watching the tv you don’t notice the blooming, only when looking at the tv from a sharp angle will you really notice it. Blacks are definitely alot deeper than any other regular tv out there. Next plan is to by an 8k version maybe in a year or 2 we’ll have to see. Would be nice for micro led to get down to a 65 inch. Update: well guess you can connect the bluetooth headphones directly to the tv but it sure would be nice for their app to tell you that instead of just saying you can only use wired headphones. So was going to use the listen to sound on phone option to watch some late night tv without waking anyone but get this it only supports playing through the phones speakers or wired headphones. This is a joke coming from a company that decided to get rid of the headphone jack and push bluetooth headphones on consumers.
Though this tv is amazing for the brightness it produces and contrast due to the mini led technology and more local dimming zones, but all that comes at a cost. First of all tv has only one hdmi 2. 1 port, and that is 40gbps not earc port on port#4 with the gaming icon on it. So, if you are planning to buy a hdmi 2. 1 receiver then look elsewhere. Tv has some blooming which can be seen from angles and totally dark room with brightness at 100%, said that it is still a tv for those houses with big bright windows where oled can’t cut it. Gaming features are not more than exciting as they were in the last year models but a new addition of gamebar is there now. This tv is not gsync validated if you are planning to use it with a pc , but still gsync can be forced enabled and it works. If you have xbox series x you will enjoy freesync premium and take advantage of vrr out of the box. Overall a mediocre level tv at a flagship price.
This tv is very bright and sharp. The dark and light zones are great and the upscaling and smoothing works great for standard content. However, i noticed some image artifacts at default settings in certain shots while watching invincible, an animated show, on the amazon prime app built into the tv. That being said, after adjusting the picture clarity settings i think i was able to fix it so it is still smooth without the weird artifacts. Since content comes in so many formats it would be useful to get acquainted with the settings you can change to enhance your experience. I also purchased the samsung q950a soundbar and was able to get the whole set up working easily out of the box in q-symphony mode just by connecting the hdmi cable to the earc port, pairing the wireless components and setting sound output to tv+soundbar. The system as a whole is amazing.
Just replaced an aging 27′ 2k ips and i am blown away at this things clarity, brightness, and perfect size for it’s resolution at normal monitor distance from my face. It has a very minor dirty screen effect in one corner, but the factory calibration is damn near perfect. This may just be the best money i’ve spent on a pc monitor in my life. Plus, if i want i can use it as a normal smart tv, any time.
I honestly don’t see why there’s so many bad reviews for this tv. I’ve had my 55 inch for over a week now and i’ve had no problems. The picture is beautiful and the blooming is almost non existent. However, when streaming netflix, if you pause on a black scene there’s a halo effect around the pause icon and any other white icons that appear. I’m fairly certain this is just a problem with netflix since i’ve had no other problems on other streaming platforms, and it doesn’t ruin the viewing experience. Overall it’s an exceptional tv that’s a little pricey.
