I purchased the 55′ g1 and just recently took delivery. Everything about it is great. 1 thing though is get help when moving this around. I was shocked as most flat screens these days are fairly light. It is very easy to damage this tv with the wrong grip and if you try to lift it by yourself you could easily damage the screen. There is almost no frame so understand that if you grab it wrong you are putting pressure directly on the flat screen. Wear gloves as the oil from your hands can easily get on the screen and it’s really not easy to remove it when it does.
I got this today and honestly haven’t had enough time with it because i had to go out of town, but i had a tcl 65in mini led qled 2020 and i can’t notice a huge difference in picture quality coming from that to this lg g1 65in oled that is supposed to be way better. It’s not a matter of it getting bright enough or not either because you can certainly crank it’s brightness all the way up if you want. But the overall picture quality on dolby vision, hdr, and sdr don’t look that much better then the tcl. The 4k at 120fps on my xbox series x and game mode are definitely superior though and the best feature. I have to contantly switch between game mode and vivid though going from a game to watching tv because i do it all through my xbox. When i got this, the back screws were also all lose and the back panel was pulling off. Definitely not ok for a tv that cost over $3000. I had to tighten all of the screws myself. I was supposed to get it a few days ago as it was in my area and out for delivery but ups accidently put it back on a train and sent it across country and admitted it over the phone to me. That’s a ups shipping problem though, not fault of amazon or the tv.
It’s been on the wall for a week, and so far we mostly love it. I’m using an apple tv, so haven’t used any streaming features. Also haven’t done any gaming. Also still using a first generation playbar, so an upgrade to an arc is in my future. Had to buy an upgraded hdmi cable for atmos to work. The panel has five 3′ concave warping points on both sides. They aren’t entirely uniform, so i don’t think it’s by design. They are only visible when turned off, and hard to see close up. During the day, when 10′ away, with the tv off, they are totally obvious.
We have 4 lg 4k tv’s and 3 are oled. This latest model is great too but does not come with a base mount as all our others did. We bought a base mount for almost a hundred dollars and it did not come with mounting screws or instructions. The service response from lg was less than stellar which does make me wonder about lg. Tv is terrific, service is not so much now.
The wall mount meant for the tv was horribly designed, and there was no stand.
