VIDBOX Video Conversion Suite
I have captured 100 vhs tapes, some 40 years old successfully. Also some digital tapes and dvds. Helps to have a second vhs player and monitor to view tapes before recording as tapes are recorded at regular speed so it does take some time. I converted the captures to mp4 and saved to computer then backed everything up to an external hard drive for safe keeping. The vidbox video conversion suite (2020) does what it claims and works with windows 10.
It helped me bring all of my memories, all of my family is crying because they are watching content that they haven’t seen in years.
Keep in mind it will transfer the video as it is on your vhs. Which the quality deteriorates over time. I used my apple macbook pro and was able to increase the video quality a bit after transferring and that helps. This is an easy to use product and definitely saves lots of $$$ in comparison to sending tapes off to be transferred to dvd.
Worked perfectly to dub all my old vhs tapes to cd’s and hd memory cards. I am relieved to finally get that project done. Vhs tapes were 1983 to 2002.
I have been trying to figure out for years now the easiest way to get the movies off our library of vhs tapes so i bypassed the dvd route and decided to digitize. I bought this software and it is so easy to use and works wonderfully. It was extremely easy to install and i had no issues whatsoever. For someone who knows nothing about this stuff i am impressed. I did watch a quick how to video for settings though which you really should do if you are looking for the best output you can get. Then, i downloaded another piece of software, handbrake, to compress the final movie (you really should do this) which cut the size by 1/3 to 1/2. Actually the final movie looks better than the original due to what to appears to be a little smoother than the original. You would think that would be a diminished quality, but actually makes the movie look better since they all look terrible to start with anyway compared to today’s standards. For the general public, i would highly recommend this.
