Vamvo Mini Projector

 we used this projector to do movie night at my sisters house and it worked great. We projected onto the living room wall and it was a huge picture but clear. The audio actually was loud enough from the projector. We connected my brothers laptop via hdmi and it was easy to get the display to mirror to the projector. I also used my fire stick and that was even easier to get a show to watch quickly. For this price, i’m impressed with what it can do.

I have been looking for a reasonably priced projector for a while now. There was a coupon on this and had some great reviews so i gave this a try. For the price i paid, i am fairly happy with my purchase. I didn’t realize it comes with a carrying case and an hdmi cord.It worked perfectly fine with my amazon fire stick and roku. I also plugged in my sound bar so the entire experience was very enjoyable. I am looking for the right screen but even on my wall it shows great. The remote doesn’t include batteries but i had them readily available. You can flip/mirror the display but it doesn’t have a zoom function so you have to move the projector around. I set it up in one spot and then depending on what i am watching i changed the display to the built in setting 16:9, zoom 1, zoom 2 etc.

 i have wanted one of these for a while now, but the reviews on others scared me off. This had a coupon so i thought i’d give it a shot. Couple of things to be aware of. . There’s no way to top mount this one. There is a tripod mount available though. Or you can wall mount it, but you won’t be able to ceiling mount it without some macgyver’ing. Also make sure you have 2 aaa batteries for the remote. I guess i got spoiled to batteries always coming with remotes, i didn’t have any so i had to run get some. Typical amazon delayed the delivery of my screen (not the seller’s fault) so i tested it on a wall. I was actually really impressed.

I ordered this to use at my club. Very pleased with the price, carrying case, ease of set up, flexibility (multiple inputs), brightness and sharpness / clarity of image, and sound — totally adequate for our purposes. Perhaps for a room-filling movie sound you’d want an external speaker. The projector fan is very quiet, and was drowned out by the hum of the fluorescent lights in the meeting room. This is going to be an excellent tool for our group. I tested it out on a few different kinds of images one afternoon, just using a blank wall with no screen. The projector is about 15 feet away from the wall, and the image is about 100 inches diagonally. (sorry about the piano at the bottom of the images. ) the overall dimensions of the room are about 30 by 50 and this size image fills a wall on the front side and is adequate for viewing videos and still images. Text would need to be rather large, but pictures and charts/graphs will work fine.

 this isn’t an $1,800 and certainly not a $5,000 projector. It doesn’t compare with a professional, business or theater projector. What it is, is an inexpensive, lightweight projector that does great an home in a darkened room. Watching videos with the kids and playing video games was great, and the kids love the big-screen experience. It was fairly dim, as i expected for the price (3800 lux does not equal 3800 lumens, it’s more like 700 lumens in my opinion—i don’t have a way to measure it). But other than that it surprised me at how good it was. The zoom being fixed means you need to move the projector around a bit to find the spot that fills your wall space appropriately, and the throw is kind of long. I had to put it back quite a ways from the wall, and in a smaller room it did get in the way of at least one person being able to see the screen as the keystone and other adjustments limit where you can position it. You can flip and mirror the picture, so ceiling and behind-the-screen mounting are all possibilities.
