Puedo confirmar que éste avr funciona correctamente en el nintendo switch en 5. 2; pero la consola con mejór resultado de sonído y video es con mi xbox one x, ya que es la única consola que tiene dolby atmos. La experiencia de jugar gears 5 es extremadamente muy sumergido a la acción, escuchar los helicópteros, las bombas y las cascadas desdes el cielo es muy impresionante. El sonído de 145watts por canal es más que suficiente. Quiero recordar que hay una actualización para activar earc y la conección hdmi 2. Importante, no olvidar que la opción de 4k hdr, dolby vision por default viene desactivado, asi que tienes que activarlo en las opciones del avr siguiendo las faciles instrucciones del manual y comprar cable hdmi 2. Estos son mis parlántes conectados al avr:-parlántes klipsch black reference theater pack 5. 1 con tecnología tractrix horn y subwoofer down fire inalámbrico. – 2 parlántes polk audio atmos owm3.
Overall for the price, this is a pretty good receiver and i would recommend it to anybody that is looking for an entry level receiver for a basic setup. That being said, there’s a few quirks about it that you should know before buying. There is no support for hdmi cec. This might not matter to most people, but it should be mentioned anyway. In case you don’t know what cec is, it allows devices connected to the receiver to automatically turn the receiver on/off (and vice versa)2. The calibration process is awful. I’ve tried many times with the mic in different places, but every time i calibrate it, it sounds terrible. It always sets the subwoofer to the lowest db setting and completely messes up the distances between the speakers. My advice here is to just do all of that yourself, you’ll end up with a much better sounding system.
I was initially a little surprised to not see a feature for earc. After checking sony’s website i realized my purchase (bought dec 26, 2018) shipped with outdated firmware. Upgrading to firmware update ver. 171 for str-dh790 took all of 5 minutes via usb and it gives you the earc feature. If you have a ps4 and want to enable hdr (assuming your 4k tv supports it) in your settings you will need this firmware to get that feature enabled. From the sony site (why you should care about earc) on the firmware update:benefits and improvementsadds support for the earc featurenotes:earc is a new hdmi 2. 1 standardized function which adds support for the latest audio formats, in addition to audio formats supported by the existing audio return channel (arc) function. The earc feature allows you to enjoy object audio content such as dolby atmos – dolby truehd and dts:x or multi-channel lpcm content that cannot be transmitted with the arc function. Someone in an earlier review mentioned this doesn’t support cec.
Everything works without hassle (hdmi cec works fine for me referencing another review). 2, 145w, atmos/dtsx, is more than enough speaker for any indoor home application.
This is my first av receiver i ever bought. I chose this one because it was the cheapest 4k receiver that supports dolby atmos it’s only $200. I am hooking this up to a computer so i don’t need chromecast or whatever in the $500 models. I have a set of 10 year old 5. 1 pioneer speakers that i have from my old ps3 and xbox 360 audio rig. I hooked them up to the sony receiver and wow what a difference a receiver makes. Those pioneer speakers sound so much clearer. I give it an a in sound quality. Just some things i don’t like is that when i change it to fm radio it’ll turn the hdmi output of whatever you’re using off and go to the radio page. I have it hooked up to my computer.
