I currently have to sleep in a cramped room, loft bed solution. I worried i would not be able to shut myself away in my room now and then to watch tv. Amazing to find that something like this can be sold to general public. I thought something like this would only be sold for commercial use. I can tilt it for watching while sitting at my desk under the loft bed or back up for bed time viewing. It will also pivot, angle, spin. So if you have a tight slanted ceiling this can hang from the angle and be corrected for proper viewing.
I love that this mount has 25-degree vertical tilt, because most ceiling mounts only have 15 or less. This is great because as you can see from my photo, my tv is pretty close to my bed (i use my tv as a computer monitor and use my computer in bed. It’s a great setup for someone with a physical disability like me and/or someone who’s kind of lazy – also like me lol). It has no problem holding up my new samsung 65-inch tv which i’d say weighs around 50 lbs. And if i didn’t love everything about this wali tv mount enough, wali was kind enough to give us such a good price for it and make it prime.
Excuse me for the not-so-pretty surrounding. Overall, the mount works great for my need to hang the tv up to the ceiling in my new basement home gym during covid time. It is very sturdy, has some flexible angles (tilting at the top and/ or rotating at the bottom but please do not do both, it will be a weird disaligned angle), but the pain is in installation, and i think i am quite handy (we set up the treadmill, the table tennis table, and tons of furniture in the house). On the bright side, it could be a one-man job but it will be hard. I am 5’4”, asian female but i was able to carry a 50” tv up by myself. Really, the only thing that i really dislike is the poor instruction, which is in 4 basic steps. It could have been easier had i not gone for the “used – good condition” which (1) should have been offered at a much lower discount due to missing pieces and missing labels because whoever returned it mixed up several screws/ washers, bolts etc. Together, making my installation much of a guessing game, and (2) the price is now $2 cheaper on used than what i paid for – i paid closer to brand new price but i don’t want to return in this snowy weather and wait 2 more days. Thankfully because the kit was enough for multiple options, such as cement drilling vs. Wood drilling, and three types of tvs, and the warehouse worker also tossed in some random parts (but not enough), i had to play around with creativity and managed to set it up but if we look closer, some bolts and washers are mismatched or do not fit all in.
A few more words in the instructions may be helpful for some. 2 things to note, i only used 2 poles instead of three because i didn’t want to make it that long. Just in case you’re checking the reviews to see if it’s possible. Also, yes it can be folded up flat, but you have to have the tv facing down and you have to put the boltthat controls the moving in the upper hole. Lastly i would say that you may want to put your wires through the pole before you put bolts through. Tried to run mine afterwards and the plug is to big to get past the bolt once it’s in. Used it for a tv in the garage and glad i can fold it up for the very rare times i need to park a car in the garage to work on it.
The only slow part about this install was locating my stud finder to get started. Instructions were pretty clear. Hardware to mount in wood or concrete are provided, as well as a wrench and allen key. From finding the stud, to triple checking range of motion, clearances, and mounting a 50 inch tv took about 30-40 minutes. It feels solid, left the lock screw hand tight so it will swivel when needed. No worries of hearing a crash in the middle of the night. The box weighed close to that of the tv, if not a little more. Screw sizes for wood and concrete are up to the task.
