vankyo Leisure 410 [2020 Upgrade] Mini Projector

I love everything about this projector except for the speaker. We typically use it outside and just project it onto the stucco of our house and even without a screen, the picture is great. It’s easy to set up and adjust, the picture is bright, clear, and stays in focus well. This is our first projector and what i hear is none have very good speakers. The speaker is fine on very low volume, but quickly gets distorted at increased volume. Variations that are typical within watching a movie. All the dramatic/louder/ or heavy base parts sound distorted. We used a small speaker with it last night and it worked great. We use it with our fire stick without any problems.

Purchased the vankyo as a projector we might use out in the back yard or camping, but upon receiving the unit and testing we ran into a few issues. Firstly it is not really portable as this requires being plugged into a wall outlet or generator. Once it was turned on, it was pretty simple to navigate the menu, although clunky using the buttons at the top while not trying to move the projector. The worst thing by far was the stand it came with. Trying to get that thing to stay in place was infuriating. I just used some random objects to prop it up rather than the badly designed stand. Once i got something playing, the actual video quality was not bad, especially in a very dark room. The sound coming from the projector was drowned out by the fan for the most part. So if you want to be able to hear the video you’ll need an external audio speaker too. The last and final reason i had to return this was most of the connections are out of date as you can tell by the dvi port.

I purchased this projector as a gift and we have enjoyed it so far. The hd/hdmi cord that come with the projector wouldn’t stay connected to the computer so we were having trouble getting the picture to work initially. We swapped it with one we already had at home and it worked perfectly. The volume isn’t very loud but we used a bluetooth speaker which made the sound level great. We have only used it by connecting to a laptop but will probably try other connection methods in the future. The projector seems durable and comes with a tripod, remote, several cords and compact case. We are hoping to get a screen to go with it to improve our viewing experience and are looking forward to using it at home and on vacation.

I purchased this device to take on a camping trip. It comes with a remote, hdmi cord, av cord, and a tripod. The tripod was useless in my opinion. I could not angle the projector on the tripod without it tipping over. The projector had to be centered. Picture: the projector, in my opinion, was impressive considering its price and the size. I though the picture quality exceeded expectation. The darker it became, the better the picture showed.

My partner and i have gone through three projectors this year, all were about this price. The first lied about its resolution. It was too blurry and had to be returned. The second had watchable picture quality, but the lens slowly slipped out of place, making the bottom, then the rest of the picture illegible. The company offered to ‘repair’ the projector after requiring us to foot the shipping bill and not have access to our projector for at least two months. Long story short: most projectors in this price range are absolute scams. For this projector, i trusted reviews from reddit not from amazon (i know this is ironic, based on where you are reading this. ) amazon reviews are very easily gamed (reddit reviews can be gamed too; it’s just not as popular a form of scam art, yet). I, for instance, am only writing this review because vankyo offered to give me a free fire tv stick if i prove i wrote one.
